We’re back.
And we built something.
We have been a little quiet here over the past few months.
Not because we lost interest.
Not because we ran out of companies to analyse.
And definitely not because markets suddenly became boring — sadly, they never grant us that mercy.
Life simply happened.
Some personal changes forced us to slow down, step back, and rethink where we wanted to spend our time and energy. It was not exactly the kind of break we had planned.
But thanks to Cas, we managed to turn at least part of that silence into something constructive.
While Milan had to take some time to rebalance life outside the spreadsheet, Cas did what Cas tends to do best: he opened the code editor, sharpened his programming brain, and started turning one of our recurring frustrations into an actual product.
In other words:
Out of an unplanned pause came something we are genuinely excited to share.
Most retail investors do not need more noise
The more we wrote about investing, the clearer one thing became:
Most retail investors do not need more noise.
They need better tools to think.
Not tools that give them one magical intrinsic value.
Not tools that pretend the future can be solved with two decimals.
Not tools that hide assumptions behind a clean interface and a confident chart.
They need something that helps them see the moving parts.
What has to be true for this investment to work?
Which assumptions matter most?
What happens in a bear, base, or bull case?
Is the valuation driven by genuine economics, or by a terminal value doing silent gymnastics in the background?
That is what we are trying to build.
Introducing the first version of the DualEdge Invest platform
Over the past months, Cas has been working on the first version of the DualEdge Invest platform: a valuation and research tool built for investors who think in probabilities, not certainties.
The platform currently includes:
Equity valuation tools using multiple DCF approaches
Scenario analysis for bear, base and bull cases
A buy-vs-rent model for personal capital allocation decisions
The goal is not to replace your thinking.
The goal is to make your thinking sharper.
You can adjust assumptions, test different outcomes, compare scenarios, and better understand what the market might already be pricing in.
The tool is meant to support the investment process we try to write about at DualEdge:
Story first. Numbers second. Probability always.
What changes for DualEdge?
This is also where DualEdge goes next.
We will start publishing articles again, but the website will now become part of the research process.
Going forward, our company deep dives will not just be written reports. We want to connect them with the tools we are building.
When we analyse a stock, we will use our own valuation models, scenario analysis and qualitative research framework to show not only what we think, but how we think.
That means readers will get a clearer view of the assumptions behind our valuations:
Which revenue growth do we use?
What margin evolution are we assuming?
How do we think about reinvestment, ROIC, discount rates and terminal value?
What does the bear case look like?
What has to be true for the bull case to make sense?
And most importantly: where could we be wrong?
We believe this can make our research more transparent, more useful and, frankly, more honest.
Because an investment article should not just end with a target price or a confident conclusion.
It should show the reasoning path behind it.
Important disclaimer: this is still a test version
Which is our elegant way of saying:
Not everything will be perfect yet.
Some things may break.
Some flows may feel unclear.
Some outputs may need better wording.
Some assumptions may need tighter guardrails.
And there are probably bugs hiding in places where only real users can find them.
That is exactly why we are sharing it now.
Before we open the platform more broadly, we are looking for early users who are willing to test it, click around, break things constructively, and tell us what feels useful, confusing, unnecessary, missing, or simply wrong.
During this test phase, we are mainly looking for feedback on:
Bugs or technical issues
Confusing user flows
Outputs that are unclear or not useful enough
Assumptions that feel unrealistic
Features that should be added, removed, or improved
Anything that would make the tool more valuable for serious private investors
You can test the platform here:
Help us make this better
We are still early.
But this feels like an important next step for DualEdge.
What started as two investors writing about companies, valuation, behaviour and uncertainty is slowly becoming something bigger:
A place where private investors can not only read about better thinking, but actually use tools that help them practice it.
So if you have followed our work, enjoyed our articles, disagreed with our assumptions, or simply like breaking beta tools with a constructive smile — we would genuinely appreciate your feedback.
Click around.
Test a company.
Try a valuation.
Challenge the outputs.
Tell us where it breaks.
That is how this gets better.
And if you want to become a longer-term tester and help shape the platform more actively, feel free to reach out.
Early testers will receive benefits if they leave a review in our DM’s. Just one usefull review will give you acces to full reports who will be for paid subs only!
Next week, we will return to what started all of this in the first place: analysing companies, testing assumptions, and trying to separate real investment quality from spreadsheet poetry.
The platform is only one part of DualEdge.
The thinking still comes first.
Thanks for sticking around.
