I have to admit that Ingredion didn’t really come up in our initial research, but I took another look at it for you. It’s clearly a solid company, though it seems to lag behind some of the other players in terms of innovation. A large part of its revenue still comes from more traditional ingredients, and it hasn’t fully made the transition to clean-label, high-value solutions just yet. That said, they are making progress in the right direction — but purely from a qualitative standpoint, I personally find other companies in the space more compelling.
